Financial Accountant - Sydney CBD Based - $120,000 - Great Team and Career Progression Our client, a high profile international business, continues to lead the market in their chosen fields. They are looking for very high calibre senior financial accountants and managers to assist with a major in house reporting project. Principal project related activities and processes including: Coordinate necessary steps in order to effect internal sale and transfer of subsidiaries; Management of financial accounting impacts associated with the sale of legal entities; Preparation of business combination and deconsolidation accounting entries; Consolidation eliminations for new entities, re-capitalisations and transfers of legal ownership; Review and prepare reconciliations, including investments in subsidiaries & all consolidation eliminations; Inter Company management (including reconciliation and settlement procedures) Preferred Background Experience in financial services and/or commerce including exposure to statutory reporting, group consolidations and inter-company management and settlement practices. Willing to accept responsibility and delegate tasks as appropriate. Able to interact with and influence all levels of staff, including senior management principally within finance. Strong client commitment when dealing with issues arising from the business unit accountants and project team members, project staff. Ideally have strong Australian technical accounting knowledge, including exposure to statutory and group consolidation reporting obtained in a large multi-national corporate environment. Inter-company management experience, including exposure to FX and funding issues desirable. Knowledge of financial markets may be helpful but not essential. Exposure to large ledger platforms and relational database reporting will be looked upon favourably. Well organised, self starter who can manage a range of competing priorities, projects and key stakeholders. Relevant degree including accounting major Postgraduate accounting qualification – CA, CPA Personality Traits High level of energy, commitment and flexibility Can resolve complex / technical issues in a practical manner Good attention to detail Sets high standards for self Ability to prioritise tasks and maintain calm under pressure Team player with communication and influencing skills Ability to handle on-going change in business Ability to re-assess / re-engineer work processes Desire to follow tasks through to completion Comfortable with tackling new concepts
